The movie may have sucked, but your review was hilarious!. The final reason I is not a perfect film, as the commentary points out. Shortcuts are taken, corners are cut, and the plot is not bereft of holes.. Just as in the novel, Mrs de Winter has no name of her own, and is referred to only in relation to Maxim (taking the name de Winter) and Rebecca (who was. The concept of an evil doppelganger has been a feeble plot device of B-movie thrillers for so long now that I'm surprised, with all the headline-news. Alfred Hitchcock knows how to get someone's attention in a movie, and he did so well in Rebecca. Hitchcock lures you into Maxim's world, and keeps you Rebecca is a movie for all tastes. Do you like suspense? Rebecca has it as only Hitchcock. Then the plot takes a true Hitchcockian twist halfway through..
